To help ensure maximum possible benefit from the initial consultation, all new clients begin with a free, 10 minute pre-consultation phone call.
During the call I will ask you some questions about you and your health so that I can do any necessary preparation before we meet in person for your first appointment.
This is also a great opportunity for you to ask me any questions you might have about naturopathy and how it can benefit you.
Health history form
Prior to your appointment I will ask you to download and fill in a Health History form. Allow approximately 15 minutes to complete the form and bring it with you to your appointment.
At your first appointment we will review your Health History form and discuss in more detail the main reason(s) you came to see me.
Depending on your symptoms, I may then do a couple of non-invasive health checks (e.g. blood pressure and pulse) and look at some of the more traditional naturopathic body signs (such as nails, tongue and iris).
During the consultation I will provide you with some recommendations related to nutrition, exercise, sleep and/or emotional wellbeing, as appropriate.
I will explain the reasoning behind these recommendations and there will be plenty of time to answer any questions you may have, so that you leave feeling like you have a clear direction.
Post-consultation phone call
After your initial consultation I will review your notes and in most cases I will select two or threee supplements to support you and any symptoms that are currently troubling you.
I will then phone you at a pre-arranged time (usually within two business days of your initial appointment) to discuss my recommendations with you. This phone call lasts about 10 minutes and there is no additional charge for it.
After we have spoken on the phone, I will send you a follow-up email which includes information on how you can quickly and easily order your supplements online.
I generally advise two/three follow-up appointments - the first one approximately three weeks after your initial appointment and the second and third ones at four week intervals (if appropriate, these can be done online or via phone).
This is just a guideline and there is plenty of flexibility to accommodate your individual requirements.
In the follow-up appointments we will review your symptoms and make any necessary adjustments or additions to the recommendations made during your first consultation.
Further follow-up appointments can be made at any stage that you feel you need additional support.
